Cat Ba National Park

Overview

The Cat Ba National Park is an attraction that cannot be missed when visiting the beautiful island of Cat Ba, as it consists of at least a third of the island. Founded in 1986, this ecologically diverse national park consists of a variety of forests ranging from evergreen forests to coastal mangrove forests, freshwater lakes, mountainous terrain and karst formations, coral reefs, caves and more. Also found at the park are exotic species of animals like the golden-headed langur; which is the world's most endangered primate, as well as leopards, barking deer, civets, pythons, sea eagles, hornbills, kingfishers, several species of squirrel, wild boar and so on. Visitors must explore at least a few of the numerous hiking trails at the park, some of which are more difficult than others. For those interested in learning more about the animal, bird, fish and plant species found at the park, as well as its more prominent attractions and features, a full-day hike with a guide is recommended.

Prayer Facilities

Although the Cat Ba National Park does not offer prayer facilities for Muslim visitors, and the island of Cat Ba is not known to house any mosques or Islamic Centres, Muslim tourists should be able to locate plenty of clean and quiet areas within the national park to offer their prayers.

Halal Food

The Cat Ba National Park is not known to have any food stalls. Tourists will therefore either have to dine at the restaurants in town, or they can take along some snacks. Muslims visiting the Island of Cat Ba will not be able to locate any Halal restaurants. There is however sure to be some vegetarian and seafood restaurants in Cat Ba Town.
