Overview

MuseumsQuartier, located in the former imperial stables, is an enormous cultural quarter that comprises a number of top notch museums, cafés, restaurants and retail outlets. These establishments are housed in buildings of both baroque and modern architecture and visitors will find the setting quite impressive. With over twenty different institutions spread across the complex, tourists may find the visitors center at the Fischer von Erlach-wing a good place to start, since they will be able to get an updated program of activities in the area. Art buffs should head to the Leopold Museum; which is known to house an impressive collection of Austrian masterpieces from the 19th century to the present. While the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art) located next door and Kunsthalle are worth a visit too. Tourists traveling with kids in will definitely enjoy visiting the ZOOM Museum and the Natural History Museum. If architecture is your thing, a visit to the Architecture Center is a must. With so much to do and see, the lively MuseumsQuartier is definitely the place to visit to enjoy some art and culture in Vienna.

Prayer Facilities

Muslim tourists visiting the MuseumsQuartier will not find prayer facilities within the museums in the area. However, since the city of Vienna is known to house several mosques and Islamic Centres, Muslim visitors might be able to locate a nearby facility to offer their prayers. They could ask the locals to direct them to a nearby mosque or get more information regarding the location of nearby prayer facilities while at their hotel.

Halal Food

As mentioned above, MuseumsQuartier is known to house a number of cafés and restaurants. Since the outlets in the area may not be Halal certified, Muslim tourists might have to opt for suitable seafood or vegetarian dishes if they choose to dine at one of these outlets. Those looking specifically for Halal cuisine will be able find a number of Halal restaurants in Vienna.
