Overview
Built in the 19th century, Palácio da Bolsa is an impressive must-visit historical building in Porto. This former stock exchange is known for its vast neoclassical façade and its stunning interior. Resembling a royal palace, the Palácio da Bolsa is home to a number of spectacular and noteworthy rooms, such as the Arabian Hall and the Hall of Nations. The ornate Arabian Hall was built to resemble the world renowned Alhambra Palace in Granada and is used as a reception room or a ballroom. Visitors can explore the palace by joining a half-hour guided tour which will take them to many of the building's stunning rooms, its grand staircase and so on.
Prayer Facilities
Finding prayer facilities within Palácio da Bolsa will not be possible. Muslim visitors will however be able to find a couple of mosques and Islamic Centres in the city of Porto, such as the Centro Cultural Islamico do Porto. Visitors can therefore ask staff at the attraction to direct them to the nearest mosque when needed.
Halal Food
Visitors to Palácio da Bolsa will find a restaurant within the building. While the restaurant is sure to serve a wide variety of delicious dishes, most of them will consist of non-Halal ingredients. Muslim tourists can therefore either dine on suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes at this restaurant, or they can visit one of the few Halal restaurants in the city.
