Overview
Mount Pulag is Luzon's highest mountain at 9,587ft and the third highest mountain in the Philippines. The peak of the mountain joins the borders of Benguet, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya. Mount Pulag is one of the unique places to enjoy a trekking holiday where beautiful endangered species of animals and various plants unique to the region can be found, as well as large pine forests filled with Benguet pine trees. The climate usually consists of rain and night-time freezing temperatures. A major part of the mountain has been part of a National Park since 1964 and is inhabited by the indigenous tribes to whom the mountain is considered sacred. There are four major trails that include Ambangeg, Akiki, and Tawangan from Benguet and Ambaguio from Nueva Vizcaya. A unique phenomenon that is being called the 'sea of clouds' is something rare and amazing to experience along with a beautiful mountain scenery.
