Overview

The Puerto Princesa Underground River is a protected area that is located in Palawan and has become a popular attraction for tourists visiting the city. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites with a 360 metre cave room known as the Italian's Chamber. The Puerto Princesa Underground River is also a UNESCO heritage site and is considered as a natural wonder. The 8.2 kilometre river is said to be one of the longest subterranean rivers in the world. This underground river flows through St. Paul's Underground River Cave and then out to the South China Sea. The journey through the underground cave is 24 kilometres. The entrance to the cave is a beautiful lagoon where animals like monkeys can be seen too. There are diverse forest formations as well as several species of animals that consider the nature park as home. Activities like snorkeling, island hopping and swimming are some of few things to enjoy doing while being surrounded by nature.

Muslim travelers to the attraction will not find prayer facilities at the location but outdoor spaces can be used. The Masjid Abad Santos and the Al- Farooq Institute are two of the Mosques near Puerto Princesa.

Halal Food

Finding Halal restaurants near Puerto Princesa will be a bit hard but you can ask the staff before ordering if the food is Halal. You can also ask the locals to direct you to places that serve Halal food at their restaurants. It is better to order seafood or vegetarian meals just to be careful if you are not sure.
