Overview

From the volcanic Pentecost Islands in Vanuatu, what the locals called Land Diving was a traditional harvest ritual that is believed to be an expression of masculinity. Men wrap Banyan tree vines around their ankles and climb up a 30m wooden tower and jump off, plummeting towards the tilled soil below.

This ensured an abundant harvest for the whole tribe and also a rite of passage for their young men. In the early 1908's. AJ Hackett, along with his friends saw this ritual and was inspired to try it. They developed a scientific way of doing the jumps in a safe and predictable way which then evolved into the modern day version called Bungy Jumping.

After numerous testing and experimental jumps, AJ and his friends decided they wanted to jump from the Eiffel Tower. The radical, illegal jump had brought world-wide media attention to AJ Hackett and Bungy.

AJ Hackett has, since then, formed the company responsible for millions of adrenaline rushes around the globe. With a proven safety record and, more importantly, ZERO fatalities, AJ Hackett International has expended to countries like Australia, France, Germany, China, Russia, and now, Singapore.

The Lion City now, is an essential part of the ultimate adventure-seeker's pilgrimage to challenge the human spirit and conquer what is considered to be one of the most extreme sports in the world.
