Teater Ekamatra was founded in 1988 to develop a form of experimental Malay theatre that fuses Southeast Asian theatre styles with contemporary techniques. Since then, the company has expanded its reach to both the Malay community and non-Malay audiences, focusing on general socio-political themes in its production.
