Overview
Known as the Powers Street Mosque, this is the oldest continuously operating Muslim house of worship in New York City. Lipka Tatar immigrants from the Podlasie region of Poland established it in a former Methodist church building in Williamsburg. It is a historic wooden townhouse and a reminder of the long roots of Muslim life in America.
