The Mosque which started as a "Surau" (Prayer Hall), serves the Muslim community of Kampung Tanjung Huma, a Malay fishing village that used to be located in the area where Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort is located today. The mosque itself is located in front of Golden Sands Resort at the junction of Jalan Sungai Emas.
