Kusadasi is marked with white powdery beaches and clear waters. All this combined provides a warm and friendly atmosphere to the visitors. There are several beach activities that can be enjoyed around the area like swimming, water-skiing, wind-surfing, parasailing, etc. The city offers beautiful sunsets and as the night sets in the cafes and restaurants around the beach come to life. The boulevard around the beach is lined with palm trees and is great for taking a stroll.

There are several mosques around the city. The Fortress Mosque is an excellent example of Ottoman and Turkish mosque. In the bay off the coast is the Pigeon Island. At the end of the peninsula is a beautiful castle with a private beach. There are also several public beaches all around the area. In the historic times the city was fortified with three gates. Today only one of the gates can be seen. Between Kusadasi and Aydin centre is the Dilek Peninsula, which is home to the Dilek Peninsula National Park. The park houses rare species of plants indigenous to the area.

Shopping in Kusadasi is an exciting activity; there are several shops around the city and beachfront that sells traditional items. The best things to buy include Turkish rugs and carpets, jewellery and leather goods.

Nearby Airports

The nearest airport to Kusadasi is the Adnan Menderes Airport at Izmir. There is an excellent six-lane highway between Izmir and Kusadasi. Buses (ESHOT 204 bus) are available from the airport to the Izmir bus stand from where several buses are available to the Kusadasi bus stand. Buses from Izmir to Kusadasi cost around 12 TL.

Halal Restaurants

Halal restaurants are easily available in Kusadasi. Many of these restaurants serve traditional Turkish cuisine. The Bulbul Restaurant in the city is one of the best halal restaurants in Kusadasi. There are several other halal restaurants dotted along the beaches where visitors can dine. It is best for visitors to ask before dining

There are a number of mosques in Kusadasi. Some of the mosques in the city include The Fortress Mosque, Hanim Mosque, Camiatik Mosque and the Haji Ibrahim Mosque. Each of the mosques in the city features beautiful and unique architecture. All the mosques are historic and have been built by prominent personalities of history.
