Located in the South of Bali just north of Legian is the fashionable resort town of Seminyak. Seminyak—which was once merely a sleepy village a few decades ago—has now developed into a cosmopolitan destination attracting tourists from around the globe. The town is famed for providing all amenities and world-class lodging and dining appreciated by its visitors.

The prime attraction of this city is Seminyak Beach. The water along the beach is warm and safe for various water sports like scuba diving, surfing, swimming, etc. Just north of Seminyak beach is the Peti Tenget Beach where the short lengths and frequent low tides are suitable for kids to swim in. In the evening, plenty of visitors on the island come to these beaches to savor the beautiful sight of the setting sun painted over the colorful sky.

Beaches and fancy resorts might be all the rage in Seminyak, but shopping is still the number one thing to do here. Several outstanding boutiques and stores—especially along Jalan Laksmana—will surely lure you into a shopping spree. The Seminyak Square on Jalan Laksmana is a huge shopping complex famous for several designer stores and exquisite dining options. If you are interested in local homewares, antiques, and electronic items, plenty of stores along Jalan Kerobokan are the best options to look at.

Nearby Airports

The Ngurah Rai International Airport is the primary airport to all regions in Bali—that includes Seminyak. The airport is located in Denpasar and, unfortunately, no public transportation is available from the airport to Seminyak. However, visitors can hire taxis and car rentals. Hiring a pre-paid taxi for a one-way trip from the airport to Seminyak can cost up to Rp60,000.

Halal Restaurants

There are a few halal restaurants available in Seminyak. The Queen’s Tandoor is the famous Indian halal restaurant in town. Other halal options where you can find great food are Som Chai Restaurant, Bakmi Gili Sunset Road Bali, Made’s Warung, and Nasi Ayam Kedewatan Ibu Mangku.

There is one mosque close to Seminyak, the Musholla At-Taqwa along Jalan Mertanadi. Visitors can find several other mosques in the town of Kuta and Legian which are within close reach of Seminyak.
