Ubud is a beautiful little town sitting in the center of Bali. Truly a treasure trove of museums and artworks. The town and the surrounding villages add to the serenity and beauty of the area. Visitors interested in Balinese art and crafts will find Ubud an excellent destination. 

The nearby Monkey Park is an apt place to spot the long-tailed macaques. The Bali Bird Park is also a great place to visit especially for those interested in bird-watching. For the lovers of adrenaline rush, whitewater rafting is available at the Ayung River located towards the west of Ubud.

The town is best known for preserving culture and promoting art. There are numerous art galleries dotted all across Ubud. The Bali Center for Artistic Creativity, the Seniwati Gallery of Art by Women, and the Neka Art Museum are some good places that one can visit for getting a peek into the local art. The iconic architecture of ancient Ubud landmarks can be seen as well at Puri Saren Palace, Pura Taman Saraswati, Goa Gajah, and Museum Puri Lukisan. Nearby Airports

The nearest airport to Ubud is the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar. Depending on the traffic it takes about 1-1.5 hours to reach Ubudfrom the airport. Visitors can easily get taxis from the airport. Taxis from the airport usually cost around Rp 195,000 (one-way trip). Car rentals are also available from the airport to Ubud. Finding public transport or shuttle service from the Airport to Ubud is a rarity.
