Day 1 in the Philippines with Aizat – Exploring Davao
ASSALAMUALAIKUM. Finally, I’m here at Davao, Philippines. Honestly I’m so excited, like really really excited when I got a chance to go to Philippines because it was on my top list of countries that I needed to visit before getting married. Sounds so cliché right but who cares. Thank you to HalalTrip, you’re making my dreams come true. So what’s so excited about Davao? davao---day-1 We arrived here early in the morning, like really early around 4:00 am. Of course we were so sleepy and we went straight to Marco Polo Hotel from the airport since we needed to get some rest and sleep before proceeding with our first day in Davao. Thank you to our kind tour guide who looked so energetic and happy when fetching us from the airport last morning. Checked in and slept. [caption id="attachment_3384" align="aligncenter" width="650"]day-1---davao Thank you for the adorable gift - it’s so beautiful[/caption] Our first destination was Rumah Kari which is one of the most popular restaurants here in Davao. The decorations looked so simple from the outside but trust me, your mouths will drop when you enter and see what they have inside. The decoration is like wow and I like the romantic environment there. When we arrived, of course we were very ready to eat and we felt very happy when we saw the many types of food on the table. Tempting? Yes of course and I felt like I could eat all of them within minutes - without any leftovers. Rumah-Kari1 [caption id="attachment_3387" align="aligncenter" width="650"]Biryani Biryani[/caption] Rumah-Kari3 [caption id="attachment_3389" align="aligncenter" width="650"]Rumah-Kari4 Chicken Sambal[/caption] [caption id="attachment_3390" align="aligncenter" width="650"]Rumah-Kari5 Chicken Wrap and Curry[/caption] [caption id="attachment_3391" align="aligncenter" width="650"]Rumah-Kari6 Fruits of course[/caption] [caption id="attachment_3392" align="aligncenter" width="650"]Rumah-Kari7 This is one of the reasons why I need to stay here for a long time[/caption] The food was perfectly delicious and what was best about it was that the owner cooked the food on her own. And her special recipe and taste made her food so special that I will miss this food when I go back to Malaysia soon. The owner is a very kind-hearted person and friendly; she treated us like her own kids. Am I overreacting? After we finished our lunch, we went shopping. Not just shopping; we went to eat again. Why do I have no self control when it comes to eating? It was really good - especially the Pinoy Biko (Moist Cake). For those who want to taste this perfect food, it is located at Abereeza Mall and it will definitely be your new favourite after you taste it. Our third location was The SM Store. I needed to behave this time and needed to control myself for shopping. For me, The SM Store was definitely the best shopping mall in Davao. You can find any clothing brand here - both international and local brands. My favourites were from a local brand from the Philippines - Penshoppe, Oxygen and Bench. The quality and design was really good and I knew these brands were already famous worldwide...finally I had a chance to purchase from these stores. lanang sm-store sm-store---1 sm-store---2 My irrational money fear was that I spent a big chunk of money today. But I don’t mind because I am so satisfied with what I bought today and it makes me happy (smile until my teeth out from my mouth). davao-tuna Our last destination for today is dinner time at Marina Tuna. What so special about Marina Tuna? They have everything about Tuna there. Subhanallah is this tuna heaven? I hope so. When first time I saw this fish before, I feel like I’m gonna die today because the fish was so big like they can eat you only in one bite. His name is Yellow Fin Tuna. It’s time to eat! davao-tuna---1 davao-tuna---2 davao-tuna---3 davao-tuna---4 davao-tuna---5 davao-tuna---6 davao-tuna---7 davao-tuna---8 davao-tuna---9 Thank you Marina Tuna for the amazing food! I will definitely come again just to eat this food. I’m so excited for the next day. Sleep well! .
