Description

The Aldevinco Shopping Center is a grand bazaar in Davao City that is said to be the largest area for buying handicrafts, and local products, and even products from other Mindanao regions. This age-old flea market is located between two of Davao City’s busiest thoroughfares, and is home to over a hundred stalls. Having opened in 1965, the Aldevinco Shopping Center is a huge change from the massive malls of Davao City, and is the perfect place for tourists to find souvenirs to take back home. Products found here include textiles, carvings, antiques, batik, jewelry, shawls, weavings and trinkets among many others, and bargaining is a norm. Visitors to the premier shopping destination will also come across a variety of imported goods from countries like Indonesia and Malaysia.

However, since there is a small population of Muslims in Davao City, it will be possible to locate a couple of mosques. Some of the mosques in the city include the Davao City Islamic Center, Piapi Mosque and Buhangin Mosque

Halal Food

Visitors to the Aldevinco Shopping Center should be able to find stalls selling a variety of delicious food items. Muslim tourists may however not be able to find any outlets selling Halal cuisine. Muslims should be aware that finding Halal restaurants in Davao City will not be that easy, but it is definitely possible.
