Built in 1988, the Guilin Central Square forms the heart of the city and is the central point for residents of the city to gather during special events and festivals. The Central Square covers an area of over 50,000 square metres and is in the vicinity of Lijiang Waterfall Hotel, which features the world's biggest artificial waterfall show every night. It is in the vicinity of several eateries as well as shopping opportunities and is the ideal place to spend a quiet evening at leisure. The Central Square is also in close proximity to several other attractions in Guilin, making it an excellent spot to stop-by after a day out sight-seeing in the city. A number of kiddies rides and souvenir stands may also be available.

Though designated prayer facilities for Muslim travellers at Guilin Central Square may not be available for Muslim travellers, plenty of open private space will be available in the area to make use of during prayer times. Muslim travellers may also visit some of the mosques in Guilin such as the Guilin Maping Mosque, Guilin Chongshan Street Mosque, Guilin Xixiang Mosque and the Guilin Ancient Mosque - which is the main mosque in Guilin.
Though numerous eateries and restaurants will be available around the square area, access to Halal food will be limited. Muslim travellers may opt for vegetarian cuisine but it is recommended that you enquire with restaurant or stall owners about how food is prepared prior to dining. It is also possible to visit some of the Halal restaurants in Guilin such as the Endian Halal Restaurant, Islamic Hotel Restaurant, The Muslim Restaurant and Kali Mirch Indian Restaurant which are located not too far away.
