Turin is a beautiful city that has developed over years. The city struck the eyes of travellers after it hosted the Winter Olympics in 2006. Built around the Po River, Turin offers visitors with pretty baroque architecture, museums, wonderful art collection and several cafes. The city offers several gastronomic treats like the Lavazza coffee and the Gianduja which is made from hazelnut chocolate. The Egyptian Museum in the city has some interesting Egyptian artefacts.
The Palazzo Madama and the Palazzo Carignano are beautiful places to visit. The old Roman town built around the Quadrilatero Romano is a good place to sit back and sip a cup of coffee. There are a number of parks and gardens in Turin. The Valentino Park is located in the heart of Turin and is the largest in the city. The park is built along the Po River and is quite scenic. The Po River is a protected area and there are several benches and walkways all along the river where visitors can sit and enjoy the views.
Turin is a great place for shopping; from high-end boutiques to affordable market areas there are several places to shop. The Porta Palazzo market is among the most affordable and diverse market to shop in. The Via Garibaldi is a pedestrian street lined with several shops. The Via Roma and Via Po are also great places to enjoy shopping. Ther good places to shop in the city include the 8 Gallery and Eataly, Quadrilatero Romano and the Le Gru shopping center.

Turin is served by an international airport, which is located about 15 Km from the city center. There is a well-paved motorway connecting the airport to the city. There is a regular bus service that operates every 30-40 minutes from the airport to the city. Taxis are also available from the airport to the city and cost 30 Euros for a one-way trip.
