Pigeon Valley & Rose Valley of Göreme are two popular hiking trails in Göreme and are visited by large numbers of both locals and tourists alike, to explore the natural landscapes and scenic surroundings of the area. Pigeon Valley features numerous rock formations, churches and historic sites along its route. A few souvenir shops are also available for travellers to take home a few mementos of their hike. Rose Valley offers stunning landscapes and picture-perfect, greenery-covered landscapes and fascinating rock cave formations. Photography enthusiasts will discover ample opportunities to snap pictures of picturesque natural environments. A number of tours and guided hikes are also offered to travellers who wish to explore the area in groups. Both hikes do not take very long - a hike to Pigeon Valley takes around 1 hour while a hike to Rose Valley takes around 2 hours.

The valleys offer an open area and designated prayer room facilities in Pigeon Valley and Rose Valley might not be available. However, plenty of private space is available out in the open to make use of during prayer times. Muslim travellers may also visit some of the mosques near Pigeon Valley and Rose Valley, in Göreme, if they wish.
Access to Halal food in Pigeon Valley and Rose Valley might get more difficult as travellers move further away from the town. It is recommended that travellers bring along a few snacks and Halal food with them along the way, in addition to lots of water.
