The Sydney Opera House is a world-renown symbol and icon of Australia. Considered to be one of the best-built structures in the entire world, the Sydney Opera House is located in the city centre of Sydney, at Bennelong Point. The impressive structure was completed in 1973, following 14 years of construction, and is host to over 1,500 events and performances around the year. It is amongst the most popular tourist attractions in Australia and it offers a number of facilities to visitors including several eateries, restaurants and retail outlets. It has been declared one of the world's most distinctive buildings of the 20th century and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2007. The Sydney Opera House is undoubtedly a must-visit attraction while sight-seeing in Australia.

Several tours are offered by the Sydney Opera House in a number of languages. The cost of the tour depends on the type of tour and language selected, but a general Sydney Opera House Tour costs around $37 for adults.

Prayer Facilities

Though designated prayer room facilities at the Sydney Opera House might be unavailable, a couple of mosques near the Sydney Opera House - Surry Hills Mosque and Redfern Mosque are located a short distance away and can be reached in a few minutes' drive. It is also possible for Muslim travellers to enquire for a private area that can be made use of during prayer times.

Halal Food

There are a few Halal restaurants near the Sydney Opera House, located a few kilometres away. Popular spots include the Zaaffran Restaurant and Aki's Indian Restaurant - both serving an enticing range of Indian cuisine. Cafes and restaurants are available at the Sydney Opera House itself and though they might not serve Halal food, it is possible to opt for a few snacks or vegetarian food there.
