Al Ain Palace Museum - also commonly known as the Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum - is a key attraction and prominent landmark located in Al Ain city of Abu Dhabi.Built in 1910, the museum was once the palace and home of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan - Emîr of Abu Dhabi and the first President of the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Zayed was the main driving force behind the creation of the United Arab Emirates and held the position of president for 33 years. He lived at the palace from 1937 to 1966 and it was later converted into a museum in 2001. The museum features a number of rooms as well as an art gallery that are open to the public for sightseeing. A main attraction is the Land Rover housed in the museum, which is a replica of the vehicle driven by Sheikh Zayed to visit Bedouin communities in the deserts.
