Hard to miss when in Bilbao is the Zubizuri, also known as the Campo Volantin Bridge or Puente del Campo Volantin; a tied arch footbridge that spans the Nervion River. Designed by architect Santiago Calatrava the Zubizuri links the Campo Volantin right bank and Uribitarte left bank of the river. Designed in a strange wave-like shape, this unique structures floor is made of glass panels which give those on the bridge a feeling of being suspended by air. Located near the Guggenheim Museum, the Zubizuri offers great views of the surrounding area, as well as the world-renowned museum. This stunning white bridge, although incredibly popular, has been criticized for the impracticality of its glass floors which tend to get slippery when it rains.

While there are no prayer facilities at the Zubizuri, Muslim tourists will be able to find a couple of mosques in the city of Bilbao. Three prominent mosques located within the city are, Mezquita Assalam, Mezquita Badr and Mezquita Al Furqan. Muslims visiting the city can therefore ask to be guided to one of the above mentioned prayer facilities when needed.
Although there are no eateries at the Zubiziru, the city of Bilbao is known to house several Halal restaurants, which means that Muslim tourists will be able to find Halal establishments to dine at, with ease. Al Baraka, El Azhar, Al Yazira and Marhaba are just a few of the numerous Halal restaurants found in Bilbao.
