4. Rumah Rasa at Bay Hotel

This Indonesian restaurant not only located opposite Singapore’s largest shopping mall, Vivocity – it prides itself on serving herbs from its own garden. Highlights of the Ramadan buffet line are Lemak Gudeg (young jackfruit in spicy coconut broth), Ayam Woku Belanga, (Manado-styled chicken - the cuisine of North Sulawesi Indonesia), and Bebek Cabai Ijo (braised duck in green chili sauce).

The live stations from Sunday to Thursday showcase Laksa Asam and Roti John. Look out for BBQ live stations if you visit on Friday and Saturday for marinated squid, fresh tiger prawn, and assorted satay. Be tempted over a variety of desserts such as mung beans porridge or simply enjoy a healthy selection of tropical fruits.

You can also drop by for Suhoor – thanks to its early Ramadan morning hours. For gastronomical Iftar in a tranquil setting this Ramadan, visit The Halia which nestled in Singapore Botanic Garden. Its International menu for Ramadan Buffet and Communal Feast are simply irresistible. For the buffet, some of the highlights are Shaved Wagyu Beef, Chilli Crab Spaghettini, Spiced Wagyu Beef Ragout, and Australian Grain-fed Beef Ribeye. Wash down well with The Halia Calamansi Quencher or the classic Bandung drink. Don’t rush to leave without sampling the sumptuous dessert, such as Lemon Botanics Meringue Tartlet and Chocolate Brownie with Caramel Ganache.

As for the Communal Feast, savour delightful quality dishes such as Bluefin Tuna Tartare, Wagyu Masala Beef, Pan-fried Barramundi, and Roast Rangers Valley Wagyu. Finish off with Sticky Date Pudding and Die Die Must Have Chocolate. Depending on which gate you access from, it’s surely a wonderful pre and post-Iftar stroll (do check the website).
