A Weekend Getaway in Berlin

Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany. It is a multicultural and promising city that offers visitors with several attractions, lots of shopping and excellent places to dine.

Itinerary

Day 1:

After Fajr: Early Morning to Mid- Day Destinations

  1. Sultan Ahmed Mosque: Start your day at the Sultan Ahmed Mosque on Lehrter Strabe.
  2. Brandenburg Gate: It is the symbol of Berlin.
  3. Unter den Linden: Walk down this street, there are a number of cafes where you can stop for coffee and a pastry.
  4. Gemaldegalerie: Check out some of the best masterpieces. Can take about an hour.

  Halal Restaurants: Rayan Chicken at Friedrichstrabe, Yildiz Restaurant at Friedrich-Stampfer-Strabe.  


Afternoon: Afternoon to Evening Destinations.

  1. Museum Island: Island in river spree, home to five internationally acclaimed museums. Can take 3-4 hours.

Mosques: Vakif Masjid at Boppstrabe.

Halal Restaurants: Merhaba at Greifswalder Strabe, Rayan Chicken at Friedrichstrabe.  

Evening: Evening Destinations and Dining Options.

  1. Schloss Charlottenburg: Appreciate the baroque-style architecture at the largest palace in Berlin and also explore the gardens. Takes about 1-2 hours.
  2. Kurfurstendamm: Walk along this avenue and also enjoy shopping.

Mosque: Berlin Mosque at Brienner Strabe.

Halal Restaurants: Sharazad Lounge at Dahlmannstrabe, Zam Zam Restaurant at Dahlmannstrabe.  


Evening: Evening Destinations and Dining Options.

Day 2:

After Fajr: Early Morning to Mid- Day Destinations.

  1. Berlin Mosque: Pray at the Berlin Mosque and then have breakfast at one of the halal stalls surrounding the masjid.
  2. Reichstag: Historical building, a must-visit. Enjoy complete views from the top of the building. Takes about 1-2 hours.

Halal Restaurants: Zam Zam Restaurant at Hauptstrabe, Big Bascha at Huttenstrabe.  


 Afternoon: Afternoon to Evening Destinations.

  1. Berlin Wall: the East Side Gallery in Friedrichshain is the best preserved section of the Berlin Wall. Takes about 1 hour.
  2. Fernsehturm: 150 meter high lattice tower with an observation deck 124 meters above ground. Takes half an hour.

Mosques: Berlin Mosque at Brienner Strabe.

Halal Restaurants: Sharazad Lounge at Dahlmannstrabe, Zam Zam Restaurant at Dahlmannstrabe.  

Evening: Evening Destinations and Dining Options.

  1. Tauentzienstrasse: Excellent shopping destination with shopping centres.

Mosques: Berlin Mosque, Emir Sultan Mosque at Hauptstrabe

Halal Restaurants: Rayan Chicken at Friedrichstrabe, Yildiz Restaurant at Friedrich-Stampfer-Strabe.  

Miscellaneous:

  • If you are there on Friday, walk around the restored Nikolai Quarter and also visit the National Gallery.
  • Restaurants: Try out authentic Moroccan food at Restaurant Rissani at Spreewaldplatz in Kreuzberg and Turkish food at Imren Grill at Boppstrabe in Kreuzberg area.
  • Souvenirs: Berlin Wall, handmade trinkets, porcelain and china pottery. Beat places to shop include Tauentzienstrasse, Kurfurstendamm, Wilmersdorferstrasse and Friedrichstrasse. There are also several shopping centres and malls across the city.
  • Transportation: Public transport like buses, trams, trains and underground metros are a good choice. Taxis and car rentals are also conveniently available in the city.
