Backpackers are also advised to take a first aid kit along with them. Items that you could include are sufficient bandage and plasters for any minor cuts or wounds when travelling, anti-diarrhea medication, a few antiseptic wipes as well as some painkillers. Depending on the destination, travellers could also take some sun screen and insect repellent along with them if necessary. If travellers expect to spend a lot of time outdoors, they should also carry around a flashlight with them. It will come handy at times of bad lighting and will be useful when travelling in the dark. Copies of important documents such as personal identification are also a must. Some items can always be purchased at the travel destination even if travellers forget to bring them along with them.
