Nuwara Eliya

This is my favorite location in Sri Lanka, and I believe Nuwara Eliya's natural sights are the epitome of Sri Lanka's natural beauty. If you head to this beautiful hilly city of Sri Lanka which is four hours away from Colombo you would be astonished as to how the entire surrounding and climate would change during that short period of time. You'd be dazzled by the green mountains, colorful flowers and lush vegetation that surrounds Nuwara Eliya. This is an ideal location if you want a quiet and calm honeymoon where you can simply relax and unwind.

Here are some suggestions of things to do to engage you and your significant other on a beautiful adventure in Nuwara Eliya.

Go on a long 6 hour hike at the Hortain Plains National Park and Reserve and witness the ever famous "World’s End" which is a 4000 ft. drop off a cliff, and also witness the variety of flora and fauna that surrounds the park. Even though you are signing up for a bit of strain on your legs, to be with nature out in the open is definitely something you must not miss out on.

Admire the beauty of a number of waterfalls including the Devon falls, St. Clair's falls and the Lovers' Leap waterfall

Treat yourself to a yummy strawberry treat and witness how this amazing fruit is grown at a number of Strawberry gardens around Nuwara Eliya.

Are you a fan of all things dairy ? Then surely the New Zealand farm is a location that you must visit. You'll be able to see how dairy is produced and also have a taste of the most delicious fresh milk and cheese in Sri Lanka.

Witness how beautiful flowers can be at the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. The garden has one whole area dedicated for roses. How romantic, right?

Enjoy a peaceful walk and go on a boat ride at the Gregory lake park situated in the heart of the beautiful hill city.

Apart from these magnificent locations, here is a list of suggestions of the best hotels that will make your stay at Nuwara Eliya a very comfortable one.
