US Open Tennis Championships 2015

The US Open Tennis Championships is always an amazing sports event, and 2015 promises to be no different. Held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens at the end of summer every year, the US Open showcases world class athletes competing for one of the most coveted tennis titles in the world. US Open 2015 is the 135th edition of this grand slam event and it is the fourth and final event in the tennis calendar.

For two weeks spectators will be treated to electrifying action on the center court with some of tennis’s top pros battling it out for the championship title. In addition to the spectacular tennis on display visitors will also be able to see a celebrity studded crowd and find many international food vendors at this event. Whether you are heading to the courts during the day or a match under lights, this summer, between 31st august and September 13th 2015, you are sure to catch some fantastic tennis at possibly the game’s biggest stage.

While the qualifying round matches are quite riveting, the match that everyone wants to be a part of is the US Open Tennis Championships Final. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to attend the final. For those lucky enough to have gotten the tickets for the final, it is definitely a guaranteed treat and who knows it might even end up being a 10-11 hour tennis match! Those attending matches can get to the stadium quite easily by either rail or the LIRR, while those driving to the game should check out the official US Open site for possible parking restrictions.

The quarter final, semifinal and final matches in all categories are set to be held at the Arthur Ash Stadium and since very few tickets are released on the day of the games it is best to get your tickets in advance, online. Tennis fans at the tournament wanting to either get a snack or have lunch or even dinner will find that the US Open offers some great options. With several restaurants and cafés available, guests are sure to find something to satisfy their cravings. Although there are quite a number of outlets, Muslims at the US Open may not be able to locate any Halal outlets at the venue. They may have to choose suitable seafood items or vegetarian dishes from one of these outlets or dine at one of the many Halal restaurants in New York.

While New York is known to have numerous Halal restaurants serving a range of cuisines, Muslims visiting the city to watch the US Tennis Open Championships will want to find Halal outlets in close proximity to the stadium. Locating these outlets will not be difficult as there are quite a few Halal restaurants in Queens; in fact the borough of Queens is known to be the best area in New York for Halal cuisine. Main Bakhtar, Bakhter Kebab, Yi Lan Halal Restaurant, Tariq Afghan Kabab, Tai Pan Fusion Restaurant, Aria Kabab, Gyro Shack Grill and Ali Baba are a few of the many options for Muslims looking to get Halal food while at the Tennis Championships tournament.

Last but not the least, Muslims attending the US Open requiring prayer facilities could make use of the facilities provided at one of the many mosques and Islamic centers in Queens. Masjid Alfalla, Masjid Saaliheen Inc, Masjid Hazrati Abu Bakr Siddique- Islamic Center, Muslim Center of New York, The Islamic Guidance Center of Queens and The Elmhurst Muslim Center are some of the prayer facilities that can be used if required.
