Nasi Ayam Chee Meng is proud to be certified Halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).  Nasi Ayam Chee Meng began in 1965 with the founder, Mr. Yeok Kai Seng. Back then, it was known as Chee Meng Kai Fun, which means popular chicken rice. It first started off as a little chicken rice and porridge stall settled up along Old Klang Road. In 1988, Chee Meng Kai Fun was officially registered under 'Nasi Ayam Chee Meng' as a mark of stable business establishment throughout the years of operation.
