    This Muslim Guide to the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations 2016 has been put together by HalalTrip for Muslim soccer fans who are traveling to catch the excitement at the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations 2016 that will be held in Lagos, Nigeria.   About the Event   Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations will be taking place from 13th to the 18th December 2016 at EKO Atlantic City. Those visiting the event will get to see eight teams compete against each other in fierce competition where the winner is ultimately declared the best beach soccer nation in Africa. The two finalists of the tournament will also get to participate in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2017 that will be held in the Bahamas, as the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations is also a qualifying tournament.    The first four editions of Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations was held in Durban, South Africa with the following two editions being held in Casablanca and El Jadida in Morocco and the next one in Roche Caiman in Seychelles. This is the first time Nigeria will be hosting the African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.     The 8 Participating Nations   Traveling to Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations is a great experience for soccer fans – where some skilled players with plenty of talent on the field can be seen.  The eight countries that are participating this year are:   - Egypt - Ghana - Ivory Coast - Libya - Madagascar - Morocco - Nigeria (host country) - Senegal   A Brief History of Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations   The championship was first established in 2006 and has been taking place every two years - like the Beach Soccer World Cup. Traveling to Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations is where you will get a chance to see some of the best beach soccer teams in Africa play.   Muslim-friendly facilities at EKO Atlantic    Halal Food: Finding Halal food in Lagos will not be that hard since Nigeria has one the highest Muslim populations in West Africa. While there might not be  Halal food at EKO Atlantic, there are small number of Halal restaurants in Lagos close to the venue– such as  Sherlaton Indian Restaurant which is about 2km away and  Viceroy Restaurant about 3km.   Halal Restaurants: The Lagoon Restaurant is also 4km from the venue with the Veggie Victory being 5 km away. Muslims visiting 2016 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations can also ask restaurant staff if Halal food is being served at the restaurant.   • Rovos Rail - South Africa

    If you want to have a closer look at the countryside of South Africa, then there is no better way than boarding the Rovos Rail A privately owned company, the Rovos Rail was established in 1989 and offers some of the most sumptuous train journeys. Traveling on different routes through South Africa, the train also traverses Namibia and Tanzania. Itineraries: The train journeys on Rovos Rail vary from 24 hours to a fortnight. The train is hauled by steam, diesel or electric locomotives at different points of the journey. Cape Town to Pretoria (3 days/2 nights): This is one of the most popular journeys that starts from Cape Town aboard the "Pride of Africa" and takes visitors through the village of Matjiesfontein and Kimberly before terminating at Pretoria. Guests can get down at Matjiesfontein to explore this serene historic village. There is also a brief stop at Kimberly where a tour of the city is arranged. This journey can be taken vice versa also from Pretoria to Cape Town. Pretoria to Durban (3 days/2 nights): The "Pride of Africa"takes guests from Pretoria to Durban through two game reserves. Leaving Pretoria the train crosses Heidelberg, Vooruitsig and the Majuba Hill. It makes an overnight stop at Elandslaagte. The next day guests are taken out for an exciting drive into the Nambiti Private Game Reserve; after brunch in the train, visitors are again taken to the Spionkop Lodge where they can opt for two types of excursions in the Spionkop Game Reserve. On the third day the train stops for a visit to the Ardmore ceramics gallery and later continues the journey to reach Durban late in the afternoon. Pretoria to Victoria Falls (3 days/2 nights): The train "Pride of Africa" departs from Pretoria and slowly wanders into through Mafikeng into Botswana. The next day in the evening border formalities are completed at on the borders of Zimbabwe at Plumtree. On the third day the train reaches Victoria Falls in the evening. Cape Town to Dar Es Salaam (14 days/ 13 nights): A 14-day epic journey onboard the Edwardian Safari. The journey starts from Cape Town making a stop at the Matjiesfontein village on the same day. Short stops are made at cities of Kimberly and Pretoria before reaching the Zeerust for a game drive. Continuing the journey, the train crosses Zimbabwe to arrive at Victoria Falls for an overnight stay and sightseeing. The train passes through Lusaka and after an excursion at Chisimba Falls and Mlimba and finally arrives at Dar Es Salaam on Day 14. There are also other itineraries such as a 7-day journey to Swakopmund, 9-day golf safaris, 17-day Southern Africa Air Safari, annual 9-day African Collage journey and a classic 28-days Cape Town to  Cairo journey that is offered every two years. Accommodation: There are three types of sleeper coaches in the Rovos Rail trains namely the Royal Suites, Deluxe Suites and Pullman Suites. All the suites are spacious and elegantly designed. Each of the Royal Suites has a private lounge, en-suite bathroom apart from other facilities. The Deluxe Suites have twin or double beds with en-suite bathrooms and lounge area. The Pullman Suites have comfy sofa seats during the day that can be converted into double or twin beds during the evening; these suites also have en-suite showers. Common facilities include writing desk, personal safe and air-conditioning. Dining: The dining cars on the Rovos Rail are elegant and spacious to accommodate as many as 72 passengers. The food on board is not assured Halal Observation Deck & Gift Shop: the Observation car is located at the rear end of the train and has seats for 32 passengers. There is also a small gift shop at the center of the lounge car where guests can buy essentials and also souvenirs....

  • The Blue Train - South Africa

    Allow yourself to indulge in a bit of luxury as you board the Blue Train in South Africa Taking visitors to some of the most exotic destinations of the country, the Blue Train is titled as a "moving five-star hotel". The original concept of the train was launched in 1923 as the Union Limited and Union Express trains. The service was discontinued during World War II and then restarted in 1946. The train was refurbished and re-launched in 1997. Itineraries: The most frequent route of the Blue Train is between Cape Town and Pretoria and vice versa. Traversing a distance of 1,600Km the train takes almost 27 hours to cover the entire distance. On the Northbound Journey, the train starts from Cape Town in the morning and arrives at Matjiesfontein just after lunch on board. The train stops here for a short duration for a sightseeing tour. Pre-dinner snacks and dinner are served onboard and the train reaches its destination, Pretoria, in the morning. On the Southbound Journey, the train starts from Pretoria in the morning and reaches Kimberly in the evening. The train makes a short halt at Kimberly where visitors can enjoy sightseeing. The journey is continued and dinner is served on board. The train reaches Cape Town in the afternoon the following day. There are several special packages that take visitors on different journeys such as Pretoria to Durban; Pretoria to Bakabung Game lodge (2 nights stay); Ivory Tree Game Lodge (2 nights stay); Zambali Game Lodge (2 nights stay) and the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve (2 nights stay) OR Jock Safari Lodge (3 nights stay). Accommodation: The Blue Train has an interior that will leave guests in awe; there is a choice between Deluxe Accommodation and Luxury Accommodation. All the suites are equipped with facilities like air-conditioning, telephone, TV, and en-suite bathrooms. Deluxe Coaches - there are eight deluxe coaches on the train with conference cars and there are four suites in every deluxe coach with twin beds or double beds. Luxury Coaches - there are eight luxury coaches on the Blue Train, each with three suites. The suites have a choice of two twin beds or one double bed. The luxury suites provide a choice of radio or movie channels. Dining & Entertainment: The Blue Train offers a fine dining experience with an excellent selection of cuisines.The dining car is spacious enough to accommodate 42 people. Lunch is usually casual whereas dinner is a formal affair. Throughout the journey delicious snacks are served in the suites. The Blue Train may be able to arrange for special dietary needs including Halal food availability. The train also features an elegant lounge car where guests can relax and interact with fellow travelers. A conference car equipped with excellent audio visual and technical equipment is available for guests to entertain themselves with when they're not busy staring at the wonderful scenery outside.
