Description

Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport (LAD) or commonly referred to as Luanda Airport, is located just 5 kilometers from the city center. As the country's busiest air hub, it connects Luanda with key destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Americas and is the base for TAAG Angola Airlines.

While LAD continues to operate as the primary international airport, a new facility—Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport—is under development and expected to gradually take over as Luanda's main gateway in the near future.

Halal food options at LAD are limited and not clearly labeled. Travelers are advised to inquire directly at food counters or consider dining at trusted Halal-certified establishments in Luanda city before or after arriving at the airport.

The airport is easily accessible via licensed taxis, public minibus services, and car rentals. Taxis operate 24/7 and accept cash (Kwanza or USD), while multiple car rental agencies are available on-site. Ample parking is provided, with over 800 spaces for short- and long-term use.

Shopping

Travelers can explore a modest range of shops offering duty-free items, local Angolan souvenirs, and handcrafted gifts. It's a great place to pick up last-minute gifts or cultural keepsakes.
