Located in the vicinity of Fethiye, a few kilometres SouthEast of Ölüdeniz, lies the Butterfly Valley. This long, narrow inlet featuring steep sides and cliffs can be arrived at by a hike through the rocky slopes and provides a number of exciting sights and sounds along the way. Secluded waterfalls and the surrounding lush foliage give the area a magically enchanting atmosphere and it is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers who desire a bit of relaxation. The valley is visited by thousands of migrating butterflies during the dry season, covering the surrounding trees and greenery in swarms. Of the various butterfly species that arrive at Butterfly Valley, the Jersey Tiger butterfly is unique to the area. The valley is amongst the most popular tourist attractions in the Ölüdeniz area.
