Cat Co Beaches

Description

Located just a kilometre south of the town of Cat Ba, the Cat Co beaches are known as Beach Cat Co 1, Cat Co 2 Beach and Beach Cat Co 3. All three of these gorgeous beaches boast white sand and good conditions for swimming; the prettiest and least crowded one is however Cat Co 2. Beach Cat Co 1 and 3 are both backed by huge resorts; visitors can therefore only take a walk on Beach Cat Co 3 and take a dip in the water, while all the other facilities are off limits and are meant only for those staying at the resort. Beach Cat Co 1 and 2 are however open to the public and can be accessed by paying a small fee. Cat Co 2 also offers a few small bungalows and some camping facilities for those who wish to spend more time at the beach.

Prayer Facilities

Muslims visiting any of the beaches in Cat Ba will not be able to find prayer facilities. However, if visiting during off season, the beaches will not be too crowded, which means that Muslim tourists may be able to find a secluded place on the beach to offer their prayers. There are also no known mosques in Cat Ba.

Halal Food

If visiting during the summer, when most locals flock to the beaches, there are sure to be some food stalls set up serving a variety of Vietnamese dishes. Muslim tourists will have to be careful with what they dine on, since most dishes will contain non-Halal ingredients. Also, since there are no Halal restaurants in Cat Ba, Muslims will have to dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes.
