Located about 10 kilometres from Cat Ba Town is Hospital Cave. Built during the American War, Hospital Cave served as a secret, bomb-proof hospital. It is a must-visit when in Cat Ba, as is a great reminder of that time. This historically significant attraction was also used as a safe house for VC leaders. As it is spread across 3 storey’s, and has a number of concrete rooms, it is best for visitors to hire a guide. The tour guide will take tourists to rooms such as the operating theatre, one used as a cinema and so on, and will explain the story behind each of them. While the attraction is great for those interested in the war, others are also sure to enjoy the tour.

Finding prayer facilities at the Hospital Cave will not be possible, but Muslim tourists should be able to locate a clean and quiet area near the attraction to offer their prayers.
