A trip to the city of Graz is most certainly not complete without a visit to its magical Old Town. Known to be one of the best preserved city districts in Central Europe, the historic Old Town center of Graz offers so much to do and see for the entire family. It is filled with narrow alleys, romantic streets, sleepy courtyards and stunning historical architecture, and is thus a UNESECO World Cultural Heritage Site. What makes the area truly unique is however the mix of historical treasures and striking modern architecture. Many of Graz’s prominent monuments and famous landmarks are located in this part of the city. Highlights of the lively heart of the city include the Clock Tower, Grazer Burg, Kunsthaus Graz, Rathaus, the Murinsel, and the Hauptplatz, which is the main square. There are also numerous other landmarks, galleries, museums, boutiques, cafés and restaurants.

Due to the sizeable Muslim community in the city of Graz, there are quite a few mosques and Islamic Centres. Some of the prominent mosques in the city include Al Nur Mosque, the Islamic Center of Graz, Mevlana Camii Moschee and Islamischer Glaubensverein Taqwa. Muslims visiting the Old Town area can therefore ask to be directed to the nearest prayer facility when needed.  

Halal Food

Finding Halal food in the city of Graz will not prove to be a problem at all. There are several Halal restaurants located throughout the city. Most of these dining establishments are known to serve a variety of delicious Turkish dishes. Muslim visitors will be able to get more information regarding the best Halal restaurants in the city while at the local mosque.
