Description

Located on the Ilha de Faro, towards the south-west side of Faro is Praia de Faro or Faro Beach; the city’s main beach. An island, Praia de Faro has a lagoon on one side and the sea on the other. The beach is popular amongst locals and tourists for its soft white sand and crystal-clear water. While the beach on the seaward side is quite beautiful and offers a wide variety of activates like windsurfing, kite surfing, jet skiing and sailing, the lagoon side is even more attractive. The lagoon water is great for swimming and is ideal for other water activities, like canoeing and kayaking, too. Visitors to the beach will also be able to find a variety of good cafés and bars, as well as gift shops in the area surrounding the beach.
