The Minhang Sports Park is a sporting park complex covering a massive land area of over 84 hectares. Opened to the public in 2004, Minhang Sports Park is located in Minhang's prime touristic area and is a prominent attraction and landmark of the city. The sports park is also Southwest Shanghai's biggest integrated park and half-a-billion Chinese yuan is estimated to have been invested in the construction of the park. It offers numerous facilities including a massive stadium, swimming pool, tennis courts and a youth club, in addition to various other sporting equipment. Guests may also book pitches and fields in advance to take advantage of the numerous facilities, with most courts charging per hour. The lawn area is also the ideal spot for a quiet evening stroll, walk, jog or outdoor games. Cycling is also a popular activity and bicycles may be rented.
Admission is free of charge. Guest will be charged for the usage of sporting facilities.
Operational hours depend on the time of the year, but it is typically open from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The lawn area
Though designated prayer room facilities at the Minhang Sports Park may not be available for Muslim travellers, there is plenty of open private space – particularly at the lawn area – to make use of during prayer times. It is also possible to visit some of the mosques near Minhang Sports Park such as the Songjiang Mosque in Songjiang, which is the closest mosque to Minhang.
Halal food near Minhang Sports Park can be found at some of the Halal restaurants in Minhang such as The ShangHai Shiraz Restaurant which is located on the Hongmei Road in Minhang. Muslim travellers may also opt for vegetarian cuisine at some of the restaurants near Minhang Sports Park but it is recommended that you enquire about how food is prepared prior to dining.
