A must-visit when in Paris is the Palace of Versailles, which is a stunning historic castle known to be one of the largest castles in the world. This must-see French landmark was once the official residence of the Kings of France and is said to be one of the most visited attractions in Paris. The Palaces of Versailles is known for its breathtaking, extensive gardens, and its impressive 18th century French architecture. It boasts around 67 staircases, 2,143 windows and 1,252 fireplaces. The palace and its gardens also became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. Visitors to the palace must spend some time exploring its 17th century gardens, which is home to beautifully landscaped geometric paths, regal fountains and manicured lawns spread across 250 acres. Also, if visiting between April and October, tourists must make it a point to stick around for the stunning Musical Fountains Show that takes place every weekend.

Prayer Facilities

Although Muslim visitors to the palace will not be able to find prayer facilities on its premises, in the garden they will be able to find plenty of open space to offer their prayers, when necessary. Tourists can also ask their tour guide to take them to Mosquée de Versailles; which is located on Rue Jean Mermoz, or to any other masjid nearby.

Halal Food

Muslim tourists visiting the Palace of Versailles will also not be able to find Halal food on its premises. They may however be able to locate a few Halal restaurants in Versailles, or they could visit one of the many Halal restaurants in the city of Paris. Muslim visitors will also be able to locate plenty of vegetarian and seafood restaurants to dine at.
