Cite de l'Espace or the City of Space is a popular theme park and astronomical museum in Toulouse. The city is known for being in the forefront of Europe’s aerospace industry and plays an important role in European Space Programme. This space-themed museum covers over 12 acres and is home to an exhibition hall with over 250 interactive exhibits, the MIR Space Station, rockets, communication and weather devices, a replica of Ariane 5, and numerous other displays focused on space and the conquest of space. Visitors will also find a park outside consisting of several of these fascinating exhibits as well as a planetarium. They will also be able to experience a satellite launch while here. Those visiting Toulouse with children must make it a point to visit the Cite de l'Espace, as it offers something for everyone. The museum offers visitors the chance to experience a voyage into space that will never be forgotten.

Opening Hour

The museum opens at 10am, but the museum’s closing time varies depending on the season. It is closed on Mondays from February to March and September to December, except during school holidays, and is open daily from April to August.

Prayer Facilities

While Muslim tourists will not be able to find a prayer room at the Cite de l'Espace, they may be able to find a quiet space in the garden to offer their prayers. The city of Toulouse is also home to quite a few mosques, such as Grande Mosquée de Toulouse. Tourists can therefore ask the locals for directions to the closest mosque to the museum.   

Halal Food

The museum has a restaurant, but Muslim tourists will not be able to find Halal food here. They can however dine on the seafood and vegetarian options available. Muslim visitors will also be able to find a number of Halal restaurants in Toulouse. If unable to do so, they are advised to make inquiries at the local mosque, or at the hotel they are staying at.
