Hanoi the capital of Vietnam is an eclectic mix of both the worlds. The architecture in the city is worth noticing. Hanoi definitely presents a more stylish and cultured appeal as compared to Ho Chi Minh City. The city center of Hanoi is called as the Hoan Kiem District and is quite close to the Red River. The district is named after the Hoan Kiem Lake, which is located between the Old and the French Quarter. The entire area around the Hoan Kiem Lake has beautiful architecture worth seeing. 

The museums in Hanoi are quite impressive and elaborate the past of the city. The Museum of the Vietnamese Revolution gives a detailed view of the Vietnamesescuffle. Other museums worth visiting in the city are the Ho Chi Minh Museum,Vietnamese Women's Museum, Fine Arts Museum and the National Museum of Vietnamese History. Visitors looking to spend some time away from the city crowd can visit the green spaces in Hanoi. There are some beautiful lakes and gardens dotted across the city that offer a serene retreat. 

Hanoi offers an exciting shopping experience. There are some wonderful markets in the city that attract visitors. The best places to shop in Hanoi include Hang Da, Dong Xuan, Cho Hom and the Night Market. These markets not only offer shopping opportunities but also give visitors a chance to see the local lifestyle and culture.

Nearby Airports

Hanoi is served by the Noi Bai International Airport, which is located about 35 Km from the city. From the airport visitors can take taxis which are available at fixed prices $16. There are some taxis that can cost between $25-35. There are buses that stop at the airport and take about 1.5 hours to reach the city center. Visitors can also take shuttle buses to reach the city, a one-way ticket costs around $2.
