Carvoeiro is a small town located in Algarve. The town was initially a small fishing village which has grown to become a popular tourist destination. The area has some signs of Roman inhabitation and there has been a long history in the area. The Lighthouse of Alfanzina is one of the prime attractions of Carvoeiro. The architecture of the lighthouse is quite amazing and is easily accessible to visitors.
The Fort of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação is the remains of a fortress which was constructed in 1670. Today the fort is a cultural attraction. Ardent shoppers can opt to visit Portimão or Algarve Shopping mall at Guia which are both 15 minutes away from Carvoeiro.
The nearest airport to Carvoeiro is the Faro International Airport in Faro. From Faro visitors can take buses or cars to get to Carvoeiro.
There are no halal restaurants in Carvoeiro but there are a few vegetarian places where Muslim visitors can dine.
