The western region of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey is known for its sandy beaches and exciting water sports and activities. Antalya offers everything that pleases visitors. Antalya also serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas and the nearby resort of Davras. The historical town known as Kaleici offers exclusive views of the harbour. The old city is surrounded by old walls from the Roman and Byzantine eras. The walls have been restored several times and are worth visiting. The Taksim Square in the city center is surrounded by several cafes and shops.

The Konyaalti Beach is one of the best beaches in the town. The beach has a waterpark and beach park, the Aqualand. The Antalya Aquarium and the AkturLunapark Antalya are good places to spend time at theKonyaalti Beach. Towards the north of the city is the Antalya Zoo and Nature Park, which spreads along 400 acres. Just out of the city are the Perge ruins, a fantastic place to see an ancient Roman city. Other ruins that can be seen within easy reach of the city include the Termessos, Demre/Myra and Aspendos.

Antalya offers excellent opportunities of shopping. There are several high-end shopping malls around the beaches of the city. Some of the best shopping destinations include TerraCity on Lara Beach, Migros MMM on Konyaalti Beach, etc. Individual shops and boutiques can be found almost everywhere in the city.

Nearby Airports

Antalya is served by the Antalya Airport located about 10 Km from the city. The airport is served by flights from Istanbul and several destinations in Europe. Taxis from the airport to the city cost around TL 38 for a one-way trip. Public buses are also available from the airport to the city and a ticket costs TL 1.75.

Halal Restaurants

Almost all the restaurants serve halal food in Antalya. However there are some restaurants that also serve pork and alcohol. It is best for visitors to enquire about the food served at the restaurant before dining.

Mosques

There are several mosques in Antalya. The most prominent mosque in Antalya is the Tekeli Mehmet Pasa Mosque. Other mosques include the Yivliminare Mosque, Iskele Mosque, KesikMinare, etc.
