The Jiuzhaigou valley is one of the most scenic areas in China. Located about 450 Km from Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou offers visitors with the best views of nature. Filled with several lakes and waterfalls, Jiuzhaigou also offers numerous trekking and hiking opportunities that adventurous visitors will love. Throughout the valley there are small Tibetan villages where visitors can observe the Tibetan folk culture.
The scenic area of Jiuzhaigou is made up of three valleys spread out in a Y-shape. These valleys are Rize, Zechawa and Shuzheng. There is no public transportation available inside the park; however there is a bus service that runs throughout the park taking visitors to distant sites. There are several beautiful lakes in the park worth seeing. Some of these parks include Long Lake, Grass Lake, Swan Lake, Five Flower Lake, Nuorilang Falls, Shuzheng Lakes and waterfalls, etc.
There is a shop close to the entrance of the park that sells Tibetan trinkets. At the villages, visitors can find some good and authentic handicrafts.
The JiuzhaiHuanglong Airport serves the Jiuzhaigou scenic area. The airport is around 88 Km or 1.5-2 hours from Jiuzhaigou. The airport caters to a number of domestic air traffic. Flights are available from Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou. Taxis and mini-buses are available from the airport to Jiuzhaigou. A taxi ride costs around 200 RMB. There is also an airport shuttle available which costs 45 RMB per person for a one-way trip.
