HaadRin is a narrow stretch on the peninsula located on the southern end of KoPhangan. Famed for hosting Full Moon Parties and for its wild nightlife, HaadRin is one of the prime attractions of KoPhangan. It is easily accessible from Thing Salal which is the largest town on the island. HaadRin is a beautiful destination to enjoy amazing views of sunrise and sunset. It however does not offer an authentic Thai experience, but is a unique place to have fun. HaadRinNok, also known as the sunrise beach has white powdery sand. The waters off HaadRinNok are calm and excellent for swimming. On the other hand, HaadRinNai is known as the sunset beach. This beach is mostly rocky and is not fit for any water sports. HaadRinNai is good for relaxing and enjoying the view. There are a few companies that offer boat tours, which is a must to get to know the area better.
HaadRin also offers a lot of shopping opportunities. There are numerous shops and stalls around the beach that offer local souvenirs and handicraft items. There is also a number of accommodation options around HaadRin. If you are looking for a quiet spot, there are several options around HaadRinNai that offer a serene stay.
The nearest airport to HaadRin is the KoSamui Airport in KoSamui. There are flights available from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Singapore and other destinations. There are ferries available from KoSamui to HaadRin Pier. The ferry leaves from Big Buddha Pier in KoSamui and directly stops at HaadRin. The ferry ride can cost from 200-300 baht depending on the ferry chosen.
There are not many halal restaurants around HaadRin. It is best for visitors to enquire with locals or inform their accommodation that they are looking for halal food. Some of the accommodations can arrange for halal food. The Muslim village of Ban Tai around 20 minutes from HaadRin offers some halal restaurants.
There is a small Muslim community around the Haad Ban Tai beach where visitors can find a mosque. Ban Tai is around 20 minutes away from HaadRin.
