Pinehurst is an American village located in the Moore County of the U.S. state of North Carolina. While Pinehurst is a golfer's paradise, the history of the village dates back to the late 19th century when it was founded with the intention of being a health resort. Though the village was originally named Tuftstown, it was later renamed Pinehurst and it became a municipality in 1980. A wealth of golfing opportunities are available at this little village which is home to a number of golf courses, hotels as well as several other sports and recreation facilities. Travellers will be offered countless resorts and accommodation options to choose from, including the historic golf resort – Pinehurst Resort – which is the first golf resort of the village. Muslim travellers in Pinehurst may not be offered as much Halal facilities as they would like, with no known Halal restaurants or mosques available in the area. However, plenty of Halal food options and prayer facilities are available a short distance away from Pinehurst, within North Carolina, and travellers who do not mind travelling will not face a shortage of facilities.
Pinehurst covers an area of nearly 40 square kilometres and is home to a population of around 13,000 residents. Though majority of the people living in Pinehurst are white, the population also comprises people of African American, Native American and Asian origin. The three airports that are in the vicinity of Pinehurst are the Raleigh–Durham International Airport, Greensboro Airport and the Fayetteville Regional Airport which are all located about an hour's drive away from the village. All three airports are located in the state of North Carolina. The Charlotte Airport and the Moore County Airport are also in close proximity to Pinehurst but are less convenient in comparison to the other three airports.
Access to Halal food in Pinehurst will be quite limited, but though there are no known Halal restaurants in Pinehurst village itself, there are quite a few Halal restaurants located a short distance away. Similarly, though there are no known mosques in Pinehurst, there are a few mosques located in the state of North Carolina within relative close proximity to Pinehurst.
