The city is divided by the South Saskatchewan River and the eastern and western ends of the city are connected by several bridges. Both the banks of the river are surrounded by walking and jogging trails. The Bessborough Hotel is the main landmark in the city. The six bridges across the city are excellent to see and walk around.

The Meewasin Valley is formed by the South Saskatchewan River. The valley is excellent to visit and is a green haven. The Meewasin Valley Centre offers visitors with information about the river and the city. There are also several museums in Saskatoon that inform visitors about the area and its history. The Saskatchewan Railway Museum and the Western Development Museum are great places to visit. The Saskatchewan Forest Park & Zoo also makes a good place to visit.

Saskatoon also serves as a good shopping destination. The Saskatoon Farmer's Market and the Meewasin Valley Centre offer some good souvenirs and items that people can buy. The Midtown Plaza is one of the largest shopping centers in the city. The Broadway Avenue is lined with numerous shops selling various items.
