Nungwi is a delightful fishermen's village in Zanzibar and is a popular destination amongst tourists to Tanzania. It is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the area and is one of the region's busiest beach destinations, being home to a wealth of accommodation options, shopping opportunities and other tourist attractions. The little town of Nungwi is located at the north of the Zanzibar region and is an enchanting place to visit. Nungwi is home to a few mosques for Muslim travellers including the Masjidil-Khadijah Nungwi Zanzibar, which is located about an hour's drive along Stone Town Zanzibar to Nungwi. The mosque was built and sponsored by the African Muslim Agency and it currently caters to the local Muslim community of the area.
