Muslim tourists will also be able to find numerous vegetarian restaurants here. Nilaveli has numerous sea food restaurants at which Muslim tourists could dine after making sure the dishes do not consist of any non-Halal items.
There are no known mosques in Nilaveli. Muslim tourists can however use the facilities offered at the mosques in Trincomalee, which is about 20 minutes away. It is therefore best for Muslims to offer their prayers in the hotel room, when possible. Muslim visitors can also make inquiries about prayer areas in Nilaveli at one of the local Halal restaurants.
