Nadi, located on the western side of Viti Levu in Fiji is not only the third largest city but is also the main port of entry into the country for those traveling by air, as it is home to the largest airport of Fiji. The city is Fiji’s main tourist hub as most visitors pass through Nadi on their way to the resorts on the coast. However, more tourists are now choosing to spend part of their holiday in Nadi as it is a great base from which to explore the rest of the country. This vibrant multicultural city offers visitors beautiful secluded beaches, fantastic golf courses, a bustling town center, great shopping and numerous cultural attractions. Muslim travelers will be able to find a few Muslim-friendly facilities in Nadi. While there is only one known mosque in Nadi, there are a couple of Halal restaurants in Nadi that Muslim visitors could dine at.
Nadi is a great destination for a fun filled holiday as it offers a wide range of activities and attractions which are in close proximity to the city. A visit to nearby Denarau Island is a must when in Nadi. Visitors can enjoy a range of water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, wind surfing and much more here. The island is also home to a beautiful, renowned golf course, so a visit here is a must.
A visit to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, at the foot of the Nausori Highlands could be a relaxing day out. Located about half an hour away from Nadi, this sprawling tropical garden is a wonderful place to see a diverse array of local plants. While in Nausori, visitors must pay a visit to the town, as it has become a popular excursion destination among visitors to Nadi.
For more outdoor adventure a visit to the Sleeping Giant Zipline is also a must. This eco-friendly adventure park offers great outdoor adventure tours and jungle safaris that range from mild to wild.  Those traveling with family have the option of choosing, mild while the more adventurous may enjoy the wild experience.
Visitors can also enjoy aerial views of Fiji by taking a scenic seaplane tour or a helicopter tour. Tourists can also visit the Nadi Market for an authentic Fijian shopping experience. The city also has a good selection of shops selling a variety of thing such as clothes, jewelry, souvenirs, and much more.         

Nearby Airports

Nadi International Airport is the closest airport to the city of Nadi and it is the main international airport of Fiji. Located approximately 10 kilometres from the city center, this airport has both international and domestic flights. Passengers can take the bus or get a taxi to get to their destination from the airport.

Halal Restaurants

Muslim travelers will be able to find a few Halal restaurants in Nadi. Kebab King is certified Halal while Chicken Bites and Sitar are both said to be owned by Muslims. Muslim tourists could also dine at seafood and vegetarian restaurants if unable to find Halal restaurants; they will however have to make sure non-halal ingredients are not added in the ordered dish. They should also be aware that these restaurants may serve alcohol or allow guests to bring their own.


Nadi is known to have one mosque, namely Nadi Airport Mosque. Located close to the airport, this mosque in Nadi is conveniently located for those traveling to and from the airport. Muslim visitors could make inquiries regarding other prayer facilities in Nadi when at the Nadi Airport Mosque. If unable to find a mosque or prayer room nearby, tourists are advised to offer their prayers in the hotel room when possible.
