Description

Bandar Lampung is the city at the edge of Sumatra island! The city itself is located at Lampung bay in the waters of the Sunda Strait. The cool ocean breeze and the local ambiance make Bandar Lampung a peaceful yet exciting place for a vacation!

Bandar Lampung has a number of islands surrounded by white sand beaches and clear blue waters. Among them, Pahawang Island is the most visited famous for its beautiful local and natural attractions! Spend your time on the island snorkeling with the view of its gorgeous sea life underneath and stay at Villa Andreas Resort above the water’s surface!

Just outside of Bandar Lampung, lies the Way Kambas National Park. This park is where indigenous elephants are protected within the facility! Visitors may feed the elephants, play with them, and even ride them.

Bandar Lampung is most beautiful at sunset. The Puncak Mas is the best place to view Bandar Lampung from the top of a hill. There are even hot air balloon rides available inside! Another place worthy of a visit is the Taman Kupu-Kupu Gita Persada—a butterfly conservation park with over 100 species! Museums, cafes, and tree houses are open in the park so visitors can rest easy while enjoying the view.

Nearby Airports

Bandar Lampung is served by the Radin Inten II International Airport. Plenty of transportation modes are available. Taxis and rental cars are available in the airport. Buses are available as well, but the stops are a bit complicated so it’s not recommended. The taxis will cost around Rp 100,000. Another option will be Go-jek and Grab—similar to UBER—but since they can’t stay inside the airport, waiting for their arrival could take a while.

Halal Restaurants

Bandar Lampung has abundant Muslim-friendly restaurants! The most recommended restaurants are City Kuliner, Bakso Sonhaji Sony, Begadang Resto Convention Hall, and Taman Santap Rumah Kayu.

Mosques

Masjid Agung Al-Furqon is one of Bandar Lampung’s greatest landmarks. Plenty of tourists who are interested in a religious tour visit this mosque to pray and show appreciation to the mosque. As for the oldest mosque in Bandar Lampung, Masjid Jami Al Yaqin holds the record! Other mosques exist all over the town as well. Be sure to ask the locals of the closest one!
