It is to cater to Muslim travellers travelling along the main highway, State Highway 1, North Island, New Zealand. Currently, it is the highest mosque in New Zealand, standing at 440m above sea level, located on the mountains. The mosque also has a kitchen that allows tourists to cook or prepare their own halal meal. Muslim travellers could stop and rest in between the long journey.
