1) Racewalking

This particular event falls into the category of the most unpopular Olympic sports and has failed to capture general interest. The movement looks more like speed walking, and there is rule that one foot must appear in contact with the ground at all times which results in an unusual method of walking. This event was first introduced to the Summer Olympics in 1912 and had been skipped over a few years in the past, but will be taking place at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

2) Tug of War

One of the many strange Olympic sports included Tug of War - the game played during outdoor events and at schools actually had its place in the Summer Olympics from 1900 to 1920. The game consisted of a team of eight people tugging on a rope. However, this event has been discontinued and will not be taking place at the Rio Olympics 2016.

3) Equestrian Dressage

Club swinging was definitely one of the strange Olympic sports that appeared at the 1904 and 1932 Olympics, but has been discontinued since.
