Itinerary The capital of Lebanon, Beirut is a beautiful and cosmopolitan city that features a plethora of attractions worth seeing. The largest city of Lebanon, Beirut perfectly fuses history with modernity. Whether it is masaajid or halal restaurants, the city is equipped with the best facilities for a Muslim traveller.

Day 1:

 

Early Morning to Mid- Day Destinations

Downtown Beirut: Visit the Martyr's Square and the newly renovated Nejmeh Square. There are several Roman and Ottoman structures in this area. Spend about 2-3 hours here. Khalil Gebran Garden: Beautiful and peaceful place to spend some quite time. Takes about an hour. Mosques: Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, Al Omari Mosque, Amir Munzer Mosque. Halal Restaurants: The Station, Manara Palace Café, The Pizzeria, Zattar W Zeit.

Afternoon to Evening Destinations

National Museum Of Beirut: Features over 1300 historic artefacts. Takes about 2 hours. Sursock Museum: Modern art museum housed in a traditional 18th century Lebanese Palace. Takes about 1 hour. Mosques: Al-Arab Mosque, Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, Al Sidani Mosque. Halal Restaurants: Kabaji Grill, Quick Bite

Evening Destinations and Dining Options

Pigeon Rocks: Natural arch rising from the sea. Sit along the seaside and enjoy hot beverages. Spend about 2 hours here. Corniche: A beautiful promenade to walk along. Takes about 1 hour. Mosques: Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, Al Omari Mosque, Amir Munzer Mosque. Halal Restaurants: The Station, Manara Palace Café, The Pizzeria, etc.
 

Day 2:

 

Early Morning to Mid- Day Destinations

Jeita Grotto: Crystallized caves located about 20Km north of Beirut. Takes about 3-4 hours. Mosques: Al Omari Mosque Halal Restaurants: Dhour El Zalka, Yammine Bakery, etc.
 

Afternoon to Evening Destinations.

Hamra Street: Excellent to enjoy high-class shopping. Spend at least 2 hours exploring the shops. Sanayeh Park: Good place to relax. Spend an hour here. Mosques: Mohammed Al Amin Mosque, Al Omari Mosque. Halal Restaurants: The Station, Manara Palace Café, The Pizzeria, Zattar W Zeit.
 

Evening Destinations and Dining Options.

Beirut Coast: There are several beach clubs along the coast of Beirut where you can have a great time. Shopping: Downtown is an excellent place for shopping. There are several malls in the area such as Souks de Beirut, ABC Beaute, etc. Mosques: Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, Grand Omari Mosque, Emir Munzer Mosque, etc. Halal Restaurants: Grand Café al-Saa, Karamna, Citta Resto Café.
Miscellaneous:
  • If you are in Beirut a day early, then plan on visiting one of the beach resorts in Jounieh.
  • Restaurants: Almost all the restaurants in Beirut serve halal food. It is best to enquire before dining. Some of the must try restaurants include Tawlet, Abdel Wahab, Al Habibi, Al Balad etc.
  • Souvenirs: The best souvenirs to buy in the city include clothing, jewellery, carpets, footwear etc. Good places to shop include Souks de Beirut, Beirut Mall, Mar-Elias Street, etc.
  • Transportation: Taxis are the best way of getting around Beirut. The city is quite compact and visitors can also prefer walking around.
